Contrastive Analysis of Collocation Relationships between Korean and Uzbek 한국어와 우즈베크어 연어(collocation) 관계 대조 분석

Abstrak
This study aims to identify the differences in vocabulary combination methods and selection between Korean and Uzbek by conducting a comparative analysis of noun-verb collocation relationships, and to investigate the difficulties and error patterns experienced by Korean learners in the Uzbek-speaking world regarding collocation acquisition. Noun-verb collocations are core vocabulary combinations that express events, actions, and states; because they are difficult to explain solely through the meanings of individual words, they are a crucial element for the natural communication of foreign language learners. This study analyzed verb selection patterns, the fixedness of combinations, and semantic transparency, focusing on frequently used noun-verb collocations in Korean and Uzbek. Dictionary examples and actual usage examples were utilized as research data, and semantic correspondence and the fixedness of combinations were used as analysis criteria. The method used is library research which involves collecting information and data by utilizing various materials available in the library, such as reference books, articles, journals and other relevant documents related to the topic being studied. The results showed that while Korean verbs combining with specific nouns are relatively fixed and highly idiomatic, Uzbek exhibited a strong tendency to use more general and semantically transparent verbs. These differences were identified as factors directly influencing the occurrence of collocation errors among Korean learners in the Uzbek-speaking world. This study provides foundational data for the development of teaching and learning materials for Korean vocabulary education, particularly for Uzbek-speaking learners, by systematically presenting the contrasting characteristics of noun-verb collocations.
